Dr Christina Guillaumier

Dr. Christina Guillaumier is a historical musicologist and pianist Â鶹ÊÓƵ in London, where she serves as Reader and Research Fellow in Music & Cultural Practice. Recognized for her insightful work as a writer, teacher, and broadcaster, Dr. Guillaumier engages audiences worldwide on music, the arts, and education, with publications in multiple languages. Alongside her role at RCM, she holds visiting appointments with international institutions and co-convenes the Slavonic and East European Music Â鶹ÊÓƵ Group. Her contributions to the field are recognized through fellowships with the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). She also serves as a peer reviewer for academic journals and publishing houses and as an editor at Bärenreiter, specializing in critical editions of piano music. Her latest publication, characterized as a "brilliantly insightful biography" of Prokofiev with Reaktion Press, underscores her expertise in Russian music.
Dr. Guillaumier has received numerous awards for her research, including those from the AHRC, the Higher Education Funding Council of England, the European Union, Erasmus, the American Musicological Society, and the Russian Federation. Previous research posts include those at Princeton University and the Paul Sacher Foundation in Basel. Her research spans two key areas: cultural practice and musicology, as well as conservatoire practices, training, and pedagogy. Dr. Guillaumier supervises a wide range of dissertations, including studies in Slavic and East European music, piano music and pedagogy, the classical music industry, and disability studies. She welcomes inquiries from prospective students interested in these areas.
